Tie dye?

I've always had a strange love for tie dye. Sadly my last tie dye shirt died quite a few years ago now.

Perhaps it's time to get a new one?

Sadly these aren't t-shirt designs. Although I reckon I'd buy that second one.

They're homegrown beetroot.

Giving their lives for a rather delicious beetroot hummus. Loosely based on this recipe. I forgot the onion, and used peanut butter again instead of tahini, as I learned from Nigella

Saturday Snapshot, is a wonderful weekly meme from Alyce  at home with books

Gorgeous pics of the beetroot - I had no idea until the last shot!
I love homegrown beetroot, but it's after effects are not so great!
Hope you stayed cool this week Louise.

Amazing! I love tie dye...I even have a tie dyed beaded curtain (I showed it a few weeks ago); but what a nice "incarnation" of that concept!

Thanks for sharing.

As I looked at the first shot, I thought ... Is that a tile? The fiber of the beetroot came through ... what a clever series of photos and your tie-dye connection is just perfect! Cool!
Very cool!

I wonder if a beetroot didn't inspire tie dye? What a gorgeous vegetable!!

Wow. Nice color and design. I think you're better off without the tie dye shirt. Just make this hummus whenever you're craving tie dye. Here's Mine

I learned to do tie dye in college. I think frequently that I should give it another try. Cool.

Good tip about using peanut butter, I never would have thought of it.

You had me fooled! Those colors and patterns look like something out of a modern art painting.

Wow. I was completely convinced you had been tie dying. Those colours would be a big hit.

You had me fooled! I thought the beet root was a tie dye. Now I'm flashing back to the 70s.

Riddle: gives color and can be eaten.

Beautiful colorful photos.

Lovely. Shirt or food. Lovely is lovely, no matter its form.
