Like Father Like Son

Master Wicker is a teenager now, so I'm learning more about modern pop culture than I've known for some time. He watches a lot of music videos. Recently we both saw this one by Belgian artist Stromae (no I'd never heard of him either, but he's interesting).

He's Belgian, but the video reminded me of a phenomenon I witnessed in the windows of Paris last year.

And it's not just for the boys!

I'm not sure if I like the idea or not. What do you think?

I'm ok with the mother/daughter combination. But can't stand the honeymooners in Hawaii dressed alike.

Hmm, not sure, but it is interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting photos. Mother and daughter look-alike dresses were a fad for a while when I was a little girl, and so were father-son outfits. In fact, my family had identical shirts that we wore for a family portrait once. I hadn't realized the fad had been resurrected. Frankly, it's a little too cutesy for me!

Interesting music video. Your teenager is one thoughtful young man. You must be a proud mom.

I liked the video, less sure about the fashion trend.

Interesting video. I am just about to settle down to watch the Eurovision Song Contest - usual a bizarre night of international TV

My mom sewed when I was little, so often my mom made look-alike dresses for my sister and me and her. It makes my heart scrunch up, nostalgically, when I see those old photos of all of us.

My daughter's sense of style, even when she was quite young, was so different from my own that I'm almost positive, had I done this to her, she would not be coming over today to celebrate mother's day with me.

Those are some very interesting fabric choices. I don't hate them as its better than many things I have seen in modern fashion recently.

Terrific video and song. I loved it. I can see dressing alike, except in videos. I think the swim trunks are kind of cute though. Thanks for playing along with Dreaming of France. Sorry I put it up so late this week. Here’s my Dreaming of France meme

Thanks for sharing. I like the father/son shorts but not the Mum/daughter that much. I don't really like it when my granddaughters are dressed the same. Some mums think it is cute though.

I like the outfit designs, but am not so sure about their being matches for parent and child. If the parents had a great and chummy relationship, maybe.
