So after my morning workout and Zumba I headed to the fabulous Dotted Eight for a Chai Latte. I'm not much of a hot drink drinker. I can't abide coffee, don't like tea really, although am quite fond of a Chrysanthemum tea at yum cha, and the occasional green tea at a Japanese restaurant.
I'm becoming rather fond of this Chai Latte now. I've had three in the past month! |
And it is such a cold miserable day that is was time for the first Curried Chicken Pie of the season.
Aussies love our pies I usually pick a curried chicken |
Which is all very nice on a cold day, but in a mere few weeks I'll be heading to the European Summer. YAY.
Saturday Snapshot is a wonderful weekly meme now hosted by Melinda at West Metro Mommy

It's so strange to think of you starting your winter when we're about to start our summer...if it ever gets here! I love chai...looks yummy! Have a great day and enjoy your vacation, Louise!
Some things are hard to get my head around and one of them is the great truth that you are freezing in your new winter while I am sweltering in my new summer here.
That looks so yummy. We're finally getting some warm Spring weather after the rain-drenched week. Bundle up!
Love how the baristas decorate the tops of chai and expresso with that gorgeous whipped milk/cream and spice design trick!
They both look yummy! Our curried chicken usually comes in a roti - basically a wrap.
I still have a hard time with the "opposites" in our seasons. I've been reading some Australian authors lately and find it all so fascinating.
Love the idea of the curried chicken pie. Yummy!
Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
The drink look too pretty to drink.
This is one beautiful cup of Chai Latte. I discovered Chai Latte at Starbuck. Since you mentioned Yum Cha, don't you think Chai is another translation of Cha? :)
A nice warm drink on a blustery day is always a treat. I remember tasting a variety of yummy meat pies when I visited Aus. What we have here in the US is quite different and no where near as good.
Louise, Is it the first day of winter, or just that you think of June as the winter, like we consider it the summer even though the official first day is June 21? I love hot drinks, even in the summer. Hope you stay cozy.
Paulita, June 1 is the first day of our winter. We change seasons on the first, not on the 21st like other countries.
Arti- I have wondered about the chai/cha connection before- it's too close to be accidental I think.
That latte looks yummy! As does the chicken pie. Happy Winter!
