Flower Market Amsterdam

I've just spent most of the last week in Holland! It was fabulous. One of the many wonderful places we visited was the Flower Market in Amsterdam, the Bloemenmarkt.

A whole block of floating stalls.

I'd expected it to be a sea of fresh flowers. And there were some.

But it was mainly bulbs on our visit. Of every type, and in every form.

I'd never seen cyclamen bulbs before

Buddha Palm bulbs
There were a few reminders that it was Amsterdam after all.

Saturday Snapshot is a wonderful weekly meme now hosted by West Metro Mommy

Fascinating and so beautiful! I'd love to go to Holland. I can't believe those starter kits!! And the cyclamen bulbs look like dried figs - I've never seen them before either.

Such a colourful post Louise - a pity you can't bring some of those bulbs back into the country!

What beautiful photos! Glad you're enjoying a wonderful trip. Buddha Palm bulbs look so interesting, wonder what their flowers are like. Will you be visiting the bulb farm? I saw pictures of them and they're massive.

Great photos. I love all the bright flowers, but the photo I like best are the palm bulbs.

Great pictures! I don't really think of Amsterdam as a place to buy cacti (but, cannabis...that I can see....)

I had no idea there were so many bulbs! But Amsterdam would be the place to find them.

So thrilled to travel with you. Are you allowed to take bulbs home with you? I won't ask about the cannabis starter kit.
