Last year we were in Paris for the tour, but I didn't really see any of it at all. Naturally the racing was on during the day, and we were very busy out and about being tourists. There was an exhibition on the fence of the gorgeous Jardin du Luxembourg to celebrate the 100th Tour de France.
In 2103 Le Tour started in Corsica/Corse |
The photos were a fascinating history, both of cycling itself, and this most fascinating of events. |
Everyone interacted with it in some way |

I'm watching the Tour de France as I write this. It comes on at 6 a.m. here. I imagine it's the evening over there. Interesting exhibit on the Tour de France. Here's Mine
6am! Wow. Yes it's on in the evening/night here. It normally starts at 10pm, but tonight they started it at 8.30 pm.
What a unique exhibition! Thanks for sharing...and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
How fun! The ride makes me nervous to watch it - having crashed in a tight bike line up before. :)
What an interesting post for Paris in July. I'm still thinking about mine... Enjoy all your photos, makes me want to go back to Paris and explore more.
What an impressive display. I enjoyed seeing people interact with the photos too. One of these days I'll go to Paris!
Interesting! I often enjoy the exhibitions and the people more than the actual event.
Funny, but I remember both the Tour and the World Cup going on around the time we were in France four years ago. I need to talk to my nephew (he's a biker) and see how much coverage there is here in the US.
Love your pictures of Paris. There is quite a buzz over here at the minute.
I was lucky enough to be in Paris two years ago when the Tour ended -- complete madness in the streets around the Louvre as the cyclists did their laps! The atmosphere was amazing.
Great pictures! I love that it started in Corsica in 2013.
OOh - i love le tour! We were there in 2011 to watch our Aussie Hero win on the Champs Elysee.... That's going to be a lifetime highlight for us. We watch it all month(despite it ruining our sleeping habit for the month!). Thanks for starting le tour posts for the season! And I love the serendipity of street side exhibitions like this. Great post.
This was a great exposition.
