Autumn

I like a walk through our local botanic gardens at any time of year. Of course Spring has more OTT splendour, but autumnal walks have their delights too- you just have to look a bit harder for them at times.

Although there was the odd bit of showy display still

There has been quite a bit of rain lately and so there were many kinds of mushrooms on show.

Some kind of slime mould I believe.

I'd never seen these before, but there were quite a few this day
They are apparently wood moth larvae shells recently emerged
from that hole.
The case was bigger than my fingers!

Some tiny cyclamen

The autumn flowers look amazing. I keep forgetting that it is autumn there even though I lived in Australia for almost 24 years.

Beautiful flowers, but how interesting to have a show of mushrooms. ;)

Autumn is my favorite season...so I guess I should hop on over to Australia now! LOL

Seriously, though, visiting Australia is on my bucket list, but since I don't like to fly...sigh. Gorgeous flowers and mushrooms.

Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

Gorgeous photos. I love how pretty things look close up when you're being really attentive. I think my favorite are the yellow mushrooms nestled in the fallen leaves.

Beautiful photos, especially when viewed full screen. You've inspired me to take more close-up photos of everything that's blooming in my back yard.

I haven't been to the Botanic Gardens in Orange for quite some time, but I do love the autumn colours. The Orange/Bathurst region does autumn so well, esp the many tree lined avenues (although my dad hates keeping the gutters and drains clean at this time of year!)

In the autumn here, I'm always so jealous of your spring. Now, we're in the midst of spring while you experience autumn. Lovely colors. Here's Mine

Mmmm...slime mold, eh? Don't think I've ever seen that in the wild.
