Iris Farm

Recently I went to Antonia's Irises. I'd never been to an Iris farm before and was astonished at how many varieties and colours there are. I ordered some for my garden.

Antonia's Irises is at The Beekeeper's Inn, halfway between Bathurst and Orange. They have honey tasting. Which is always fun.

A bee hive in the wall so you can see the workings of the hive.

We had lunch there this day too.  I had the duck burger with kumara chips. It was delicious. The duck was succulent.

I love irises. My Mudgee garden had a lovely selection.
I don't think I've ever stopped at the beekeeper's before though. Always in a hurry to get to Orange.

We're enjoying a family w/e in the mountains - turns out my sister & nephew went to playgroup with you & master wicker :-)

The flowers are gorgeous. I would have spent hours photographing them.

Duck, yummy.

Had to google kumara, similar to waht we call sweet potatoes.

I love irises too. So many colors. I am partial to the purple, lavender ones. But the orange ones and the white ones are spectacular too. Thanks for including the names of all the varieties.

I can't imagine how you chose which iris to buy! I'd want all of them. So beautiful.

Oh, so nice to see Spring blooms, as we are looking at all the leaves fall from the trees here in New England! Isn't the variety of bearded iris amazing ??? Tough to choose from so many colors and special color blends!
