The Cutest Thing Ever?

It's always nice to find a lily pond, with some ducks. Such a lovely spot for some restful contemplation.

But when you look for a while longer you notice something else.
Possibly the cutest thing ever.
Ducklings on water lily pads!

Look hard!

I love the Monet-esque feel to this one
(completely accidental)

I wish I'd thought to take a video, but I didn't.

Ducklings stumbling over lily pads looking to snack on insects is perhaps the cutest thing I've ever seen.

  7. Haha! How cute is THAT !?! I love the markingson these ducks too ... those dramatic dark lines swooping around the eyes ... like kohl eyes on Cleopatra!

  8. Beautiful, and oh how cute the ducklings are.

THANKS for the closeups. Couldn't make out the ducklings until you put in the closeups. :)

  12. What interesting photos! You're right, the ducks are so blended in it's just hard to see them. But I'm sure while you were there, you could see movement. What a wonderful sighting!

  15. Well spotted! They would be so easy to miss, but have made some beautiful photos. I've been out snapping water birds as well - but I can't identify them! blog http://goo.gl/9qx5t

  17. One of the best things about this time of year. Baby animals! Around here we are seeing calves, lambs, soon colts. Later there will be baby antelope, they are hard to photograph though because when you get the car stopped, mama runs away with baby close behind.
