A few months ago I got to spend a lovely couple of days in the Blue Mountains, a wonderful area a few hours west of Sydney. I had a room in a nice hotel,
the lovely Echoes at Katoomba, with wonderful views, all to myself. Luxury.
|
My room looked out over the Jamison Valley |
|
And so I got to enjoy the many moods of the valley |
|
It was different every time I looked out the window.
It was wonderful. |
I'm sure we'll go back to the Blue Mountains sometime soon. I have many great photos to share.
Saturday Snapshot, is a wonderful weekly meme from at home with books
The Blue Mountains is one of my favourite places. My husband and I were married in Katoomba 3 years ago this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for highlighting it this week and bringing back lots of happy memories :-)
A reason to put this on a destination list. Your photos are breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteI am with my mom and dad this weekend and thought of you as I selected children's books from a thrift store.

Happy Anniversary Brona! I think it's too funny that somehow I waited from July to this very week to post the pictures! I'd meant to do it multiple times before, I'm glad that it got delayed for whatever reason.
ReplyDeleteGenie, how lovely. I hope you got some special books. If you can ever stop visiting Paris (and who can?, I'm busy planning a trip for next year) then Australia is waiting....

ReplyDeleteWhat is so amazing about these shots is how the same scenario can bespeak so many different moods, and nuances.
ReplyDeleteThese are great pics, Louise.
In the first, I'm dreaming.
In the second, I'm hiking.
In the third, I'm sipping a coffee, reading.
Bear With Me...Super shots for sure♫
ReplyDeleteHow nice that those mountains lined up for their photos. Love the moods you captured. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view! It's amazing, isn't it? How mountains and oceans always seem to be shifting and changing in front of our eyes. I could stare at them for hours.
ReplyDeleteYou are right! Many moods...and what lovely views you had!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing....
Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
Wow, those photos are gorgeous, I love the graduated shades of color.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots! Your Blue Mountains look quite different to Jamaica's Blue Mountains but just as gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThose mountains in the background almost look like a visual echo of the one in the foreground. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteOh... moody!! I love it! What great perspective you have!
ReplyDeleteTraveling by yourself can be really refreshing. Looks like you had a beautiful spot, too!

That's the only downside of my job as school librarian...not much call to travel. So lovely to sit in the quiet in a hotel room alone and look out on the beautiful world.
ReplyDeleteWhat breathtaking views! I clicked the link and am floored by the resort location and those views views views. Heavenly. Really.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are gorgeous - you should frame the top one.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I could imagine them making great watercolours.
ReplyDeletesuch a peaceful scene :)
ReplyDeleteOh, beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteThat's breathtaking. I have to travel quite a distance to experience mountain views, it's all flat where I live.
