Katoomba

A few months ago I got to spend a lovely couple of days in the Blue Mountains, a wonderful area a few hours west of Sydney. I had a room in a nice hotel, the lovely Echoes at Katoomba, with wonderful views, all to myself. Luxury.

My room looked out over the Jamison Valley

And so I got to enjoy the many moods of the valley
It was different every time I looked out the window.
It was wonderful.
I'm sure we'll go back to the Blue Mountains sometime soon. I have many great photos to share.

Saturday Snapshot, is a wonderful weekly meme from at home with books

  1. The Blue Mountains is one of my favourite places. My husband and I were married in Katoomba 3 years ago this week.
Thanks for highlighting it this week and bringing back lots of happy memories :-)

  2. A reason to put this on a destination list. Your photos are breathtaking!

I am with my mom and dad this weekend and thought of you as I selected children's books from a thrift store.

  3. Happy Anniversary Brona! I think it's too funny that somehow I waited from July to this very week to post the pictures! I'd meant to do it multiple times before, I'm glad that it got delayed for whatever reason.

Genie, how lovely. I hope you got some special books. If you can ever stop visiting Paris (and who can?, I'm busy planning a trip for next year) then Australia is waiting....

  5. What is so amazing about these shots is how the same scenario can bespeak so many different moods, and nuances.
    These are great pics, Louise.
    In the first, I'm dreaming.
    In the second, I'm hiking.
In the third, I'm sipping a coffee, reading.

  8. What a beautiful view! It's amazing, isn't it? How mountains and oceans always seem to be shifting and changing in front of our eyes. I could stare at them for hours.

  15. That's the only downside of my job as school librarian...not much call to travel. So lovely to sit in the quiet in a hotel room alone and look out on the beautiful world.
