Road Trip! Canberra

Last week I showed you some gorgeous flowers from Floriade 2012 in Canberra. This week is some more Canberra photos from the same day. It was glorious spring weather, which seems but a hazy memory now- it's snowing here in my bit of Australia today!

It wasn't just the Floriade flower beds that were full of blooms.

Floriade isn't just about flowers though.

There's also a gnome decorating competition.

It was a beautiful spring day.

The Captain Cook Memorial Fountain isn't always on, but I think it should be.

Saturday Snapshot, is a wonderful weekly meme from at home with books

  1. So delicate, those first shots are -- like popcorn on trees.

  7. Beautiful spring photos.
We are just losing the leaves off the trees and our blossom trees have berries.

Keep warm in the snowy weather

  8. How wonderful to be having spring now. These are sumptuous photos. They are so so clear and sharp. We're into fall, and soon the snow. But there's beauty to behold too.

  12. Gorgeous flower photos and blue skies! It's hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that it snows in Australia - so not the weather I would expect there.

  14. I can't believe you had snow again after the blossoms in the photo, but I figured your October must be equivalent to our April. We never know what April will bring. Glorious sky and flowers. Here's Mine

  18. I'm so glad to be having spring now (even if it is cold) rather than autumn.

Yes Brona, even Canberra can look pretty with flowers!

And Swan Pond I was pretty chuffed with that photo. I like the strong shapes, boldness and simplicity. My favourite of the day I think.

  20. I can't believe it is spring where you are. Today, for the first time this autumn, I scraped ice off the car windscreen, and felt as if winter was already here. No Snapshot from me this week, but I'm enjoying looking at everyone else's.
