Autumn Colour

One of the advantages of living in a place where we have an awful winter, is that you get the benefits of spring and autumn glory. It doesn't last all that long, and hasn't been all that spectacular this year actually, but there are still highlights.

I love this tree in my street

  1. Lovely colours, Louise ... Len has taken some of ours this year. I usually do it. So I must post some too. We have 2 glorious Manchurian Pears, past their best now; a luminous Chinese Pistachio just coming into its own; a Golden Rain tree; an English elm; and a Japanese Maple. Lovely time of year.

  2. Thanks Sue. Our trees are probably looking a bit better this week too, maybe I was too impatient? There are a few luminous trees here too- I wonder if they are chinese pistachio? I just googled them, and they certainly could be.

  4. We usually have a pretty nice spring, but the winds have blown the blossoms off of the plants this year. :(

  5. The trees are beautiful and I am reminded that although we are in opposite seasons, trees provide color in both autumn and spring... My favorite fall trees in our yard are a Japanese Maple and three coral-bark maples.

  6. Such beautiful photos!
We're trying to have spring here, but it's been so wet and cold I'm afraid we're going to go right from winter into summer.

  7. Yes Jen, it is rather green. We've had a rather mild, non-existent summer, and it's kept raining since the drought broke last year.

Kathy, Genie and Susan, I am lots of complaints from North America about the lack of spring there! Such a shame, spring is my favourite season, although the brief colourful part of autumn comes second.

This is Belgium. Thanks so much! Of to have a peek at your blog.

  9. BTW Louise, I think you have Hannah's old Wayfaring Choc URL in your Blog List, cos she sure had posted more recently than 7 months ago!

  10. Thanks Sue, I just removed it. I haven't really used the blog list since I found google reader. I should get rid of it I suspect, or at least update it. It's so last year. BTW I thought of you today as I took several photos of trees, mainly paperbarks.
