She certainly makes characters from the past. The section on Basilica Saint-Denis was particularly special because of the picture she painted of Abbot Suger.

Genie I'm sure you'd enjoy this one, so many great ideas (within and without Paris, although I'm sure you would have done all of the Paris ones). We're in Paris now, and have been mainly here since 21/6, with a little diversion to London. Some are novels, but many are as the one you described, personal stories about real places to visit. On each trip to Paris I make one trip out of the city, and will have to find this book to add to my collection.

Remind me, when do you leave?

Bises,
GenieGenie -- Paris and Beyondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12758801373365481655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261834677579395686.post-86288058683390003242013-07-09T03:08:15.527+10:002013-07-09T03:08:15.527+10:00Louise, I'll definitely take a look at this bo...Louise, I'll definitely take a look at this book. I'm afraid I'm more intrigued by books with characters, even if it's a memoir, than I am by mere descriptions of places. For instance, I didn't get through Into A Paris Quartier by Dianne Johnson, but I'm really enjoying Paris by Edward Rutherfurd because he includes fictional characters along with the historical views of Paris. Thanks for playing along today. Here’s my Dreaming of France memePaulita https://www.blogger.com/profile/14237320966048538408noreply@blogger.com
