Kiwis love feijoa here it's in yoghurt |
Pohutukawa is a lovely NZ native tree with gorgeous red flowers, I don't imagine it actually has anything to do with coffee |
Hokey Pokey is a crunchy sort of honeycomb I don't imagine that the wholegrains counter much of the effect of the hokey pokey |
L&P is an iconic NZ soft drink this is the only one of these products that I managed to try it was overly sweet for my tastes |
Fish and chips is another Kiwi icon I've never seen packets of frozen fish and chips before it makes a certain amount of sense |
Saturday Snapshot is a wonderful weekly meme now hosted by WestMetroMommy
It's all new to me, apart from the frozen fish and chips which you can buy here (UK) too. I have no idea what's in the other things though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the delightful treats...I am intrigued by the frozen fish and chips.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
I love visiting grocery stores as well.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun items here.
Yes, definitely not our typical supermarket here in Southern Alberta. A world apart.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great display. I don't know any of these foods (kiwi, yes, but not as a flavoring, and fish and chips, though I've not tasted them). Wonder if there are lots of jalapeƱo foods outside the US.....
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to share items of different cultures. Thanks for the food glimpses.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting. I work with someone from New Zealand, so will have to ask her about Hokey Pokey.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of feijoa yoghurt, but I've never tasted it - sounds like a good enough reason for another trip to NZ to me :-)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of most of those but I too have fun visiting foreign markets when I travel. There is a store here in the US called World Market that imports a lot of yummy treats from around the world. They used to carry Buderim Ginger Bears but I haven't been able to find them lately.
