Plato?)Deb Nance at Readerbuzzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12128529491888701996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261834677579395686.post-55407852307842546842011-07-26T11:32:01.680+10:002011-07-26T11:32:01.680+10:00I, like Kathy, have never read a Sherlock Holmes b...I, like Kathy, have never read a Sherlock Holmes book - my husband loves him :)(Diane) Bibliophile By the Seahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10519875632878992728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261834677579395686.post-16437913177123653362011-07-26T10:19:35.569+10:002011-07-26T10:19:35.569+10:00Hi Kath, Sherlock Holmes probably is a bit old fas...Hi Kath, Sherlock Holmes probably is a bit old fashioned and stuffy- but that is part of the fun I think. And having seen that video of Conan Doyle- well he looks old fashioned and stuffy too, so you can certainly see where it came from!Louisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13187730620736345378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261834677579395686.post-81031517010109708862011-07-26T02:56:37.741+10:002011-07-26T02:56:37.741+10:00Thanks for this review - like Bermudaonion, I'...Thanks for this review - like Bermudaonion, I've never read a Sherlock Holmes book, wondering if they'd be too old fashioned or stuffy, but now I'll add it to my 'must read some day' list.Kath Locketthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09677312773827236567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261834677579395686.post-56182955141767844252011-07-25T23:19:58.672+10:002011-07-25T23:19:58.672+10:00I think you'd enjoy it Kathy. But it's very enjoyable, and Sherlock Holmes is still quite a pop culture reference. Certainly the BBC made a fantastic new series last year, with more episodes to come this year- the second one of which is to be The Hound of the Baskervilles. So it still has cultural relevance. And it's great to see where it came from. You'll certainly be learning a few words from Conan Doyle over the next few weeks :-). I'm very keen to read more. They may get a bit samey I suspect if you sat down to read all 60 in a row, but anything does that.Louisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13187730620736345378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6261834677579395686.post-32943081783519600092011-07-25T22:25:41.753+10:002011-07-25T22:25:41.753+10:00I've never read a Sherlock Holmes book, but ma...I've never read a Sherlock Holmes book, but maybe this year will be the year, since I read my first Agatha Christie not too long ago. I'm glad to see you liked this.bermudaonionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10726401178972099557noreply@blogger.com
